About me

I run Bajanov Advisory, where I help organisations make evidence-based AI decisions — figuring out what to build, what to buy, and what to leave alone.

Before starting the advisory practice, I spent over twenty years at Quantium as one of the earliest employees. Most recently I was Executive, AI Transformation, leading the program that embedded AI across global operations. Over the years I held leadership roles spanning data science, product analytics, and engineering, with teams of up to 180 people. I played a key role in establishing both the Commbank iQ and Quantium Telstra joint ventures.

I’m a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia and a member of the Actuaries Institute’s Data Science and AI Practice Committee. I authored Where Are Australia’s Data Science Leaders? and have served as an expert witness for the Federal Court of Australia. I also sit on the External Advisory Committee for data science at Western Sydney University, and was named in the IAPA Top 25 Analytics Leaders in 2018.
